Hacking Out For HAPPA is our 2021 Challenge Event!
Who? Anyone, anywhere, any age, who is up for the challenge of completing the task to help raise funds for HAPPA.
What? To walk 30,000 steps – average daily distance of a HAPPA staff member in their daily care for HAPPA horses and ponies! OR to hack 25 miles – the average daily distance (like a HAPPA horse) would cover in the wild!
How? Two Feet: Take your family dog, or best friend or complete the whole 30,000 steps in one day. Two Feet & Four Hooves: Use your daily or weekly hacks to clock up the miles to complete the 25 mile challenge.
Why? HAPPA are calling on Supporters, Friends and Followers alike to help them raise funds to continue investigating cruelty and neglect, rescuing horses, ponies and donkeys and giving them a Second Chance at Life.
When? Between 1st – 31st July
Use the weeks before the event to prepare; set up your Just Giving Page (See our dedicated video on how to here) collect sponsors on the enclosed form, spread the word and get others involved. From the 1st July begin recording your progress wearing your dedicated ‘Hacking Out for HAPPA’ high-vis included in your pack (which you can purchase here). The stickers can be placed on your dog’s lead, equine’s bridle or give to those who sponsor you.
- Use your smart phone, other digital device, or specific fitness apps to record your progress and share updates with those who have sponsored you.
- Complete the challenge walking around the office, around the park, up a big hill, around your garden, around the school play-ground any way is possible. We would love to hear how you are completing the challenge, share your news on our dedicated group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/127792955991795/
