The HAPPA Team are passionate about educating the next generation on how to care for a horse or pony correctly. The Beginners Guide to Horse and Pony Care Part 1 does exactly that and is now available to complete at HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm, Burnley, Lancashire BB10 3QU.
The day is packed full of fantastic learning opportunities and is designed to start you on a learning journey, covering all the basic knowledge needed to care for a horse or pony correctly.
The Charity’s Equine & Education Team and the HAPPA horses will deliver a fun and inspiring learning experience with a blend of classroom and hands on activities. An end of day assessment will solidify the learning experience.
Part 1 learning includes:
- -how to handle a horse safely
- -how to keep a horse healthy
- -how to fit and identify horse rugs
- -how to clean and maintain tack
Please note, lunch is not provided, so, participants will have to bring a packed lunch.
After successfully completing Part 1, all participants will receive a certificate of completion, then are able to move on to complete The Beginners Guide to Horse and Pony Care Part 2.
