The HAPPA Team are passionate about educating potential horse owners on how to care for a horse or pony correctly. Are you about to buy or loan your very first horse? Or as a responsible parent who is about to buy or loan your child their first pony, you want to make sure you have enough basic knowledge to supervise its care?
If so it would be a fantastic idea for you to complete The HAPPA Beginners Guide to Horse and Pony Care Part 1, 2 and 3. This year Part 1 is available to complete at HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm, Burnley, Lancashire BB10 3QU.
The day is packed full of fantastic learning opportunities and is designed to take you on a learning journey, covering all the basic knowledge needed to care for a horse or pony correctly.
The Charity’s Equine Care Team and the HAPPA horses will deliver a fun and inspiring learning experience with a blend of classroom and hands on activities. An end of day assessment will solidify your learning experience.
Part 1 learning includes:
- how to handle a horse safely
- how to keep a horse healthy
- how to fit and identify horse rugs
- how to clean and maintain tack
After successfully completing Part 1, all participants will receive a certificate of completion, then are able to move on to complete The Beginners Guide to Horse and Pony Care Part 2.
