The HAPPA Team are passionate about educating the next generation on how to care for a horse or pony correctly. The Beginners Guide To Horse and Pony Care Part 1 – Parent & Child Onsite course does exactly that and is now available to complete at HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm, Burnley, Lancashire BB10 3QU.
This course is ideal for both parents and children (age 7+) who are wanting to learn how to care for their first horse or pony together. The course is a fun filled day of theory and practical learning with our experienced and qualified Equine Education Team
The Charity’s experienced and qualified Equine Education Team, and the HAPPA horses will deliver a fun and inspiring learning experience with a blend of classroom and hands on activities. An end of day assessment will solidify the learning experience.
Part 1 learning includes:
Please note, lunch is not provided, so, participants will have to bring a packed lunch.
- -how to handle a horse safely
- -how to keep a horse healthy
- -how to fit and identify horse rugs
- -how to clean and maintain tack
After successfully completing Part 1, all participants will receive a certificate of completion, then are able to move on to complete The Beginners Guide to Horse and Pony Care Part 2.
