HAPPA celebrated their 80th Anniversary at Shores Hey Farm, Briercliffe, Burnley by staging a Grand Open Day on Saturday 9th September.
Despite the challenging weather conditions many turned out to support the Charity to help raise funds to continue to provide the very best in equine welfare.
During the day there were displays in the Indoor Arena by the HAPPA team and equines, a Western Riding display with Charlie Madeley and her horse Spangle, a Carriage Driving Display by the RDA and Merebrow Dog Training Academy showed off some training tips and their beautiful gundogs.
There was also a variety of stalls by HAPPA, other animal charities, crafts and photography, and children’s fun with The Tommy Trotter Experience.
Visitors also got the chance to speak to the team of Lancashire Fire and Rescue who attended with a rescue vehicle, which children had the chance to sit in!
The Scullery café had a fantastic cake, made by cook Mel, celebrating the 80th year and customers were invited to take a piece for a donation. There was also a variety of refreshments throughout the day and an appetising hog roast.
HAPPA would like to thank everyone who supported the event, businesses who offered raffle and tombola prizes, the displays and entertainers, and all the visitors who helped raise the total of over £3,000 for the Charity!
