HAPPA celebrated the first Anniversary of the completion of their development project at Shores Hey Farm by staging a Grand Open Day on Saturday 3rd September.
Despite the challenging weather conditions many turned out to support the Charity to help raise funds to continue to provide the very best in equine welfare.
During the day there were displays in the Indoor Arena by the HAPPA team and equines and Gillian Geoghegan with her horse George providing a Parelli display.
At the Entertainment Area there was entertainment provided by local band The Switch and singer Ellie Carpendale.
Cooper’s Critters provided talks and handling sessions with their unusual animals throughout the day in the new Briercliffe Suite.
There was also a variety of stalls by HAPPA, other animal charities, crafts and photography, and children’s fun with a bouncy castle and archery.
The Scullery café hosted a Village Fete Competition with entries of cakes, photography and miniature gardens. There was also variety of refreshments throughout the day and an appetising hog roast.
HAPPA would like to thank everyone who supported the event, businesses who offered raffle and tombola prizes, Pets at Home staff who supported the car-park movements on the day, the displays and entertainers and all the visitors who helped raise the total of over £3,800 for the Charity.
