HAPPA are asking the public to consider the Charity during ‘Remember a Charity Week’ (10th-16th September).

The national event sees Remember a Charity collaborate with charities in order to create awareness and discussion around leaving a legacy to a charity.
HAPPA are inviting their supporters, old and new, to attend a special three day event at Shores Hey Farm to discuss will making and planning for the future.
The Charity are encouraging supporters to attend one of the three days to chat face to face with the team about the dedicated work the charity does improving and promoting equine welfare, an opportunity to ask questions, look around the farm and find out how leaving a legacy to HAPPA will make a difference to animal welfare.
Sarah Arthur, Chief Officer explains “Over 80% of HAPPA’s annual income comes from legacies, without this money the charity would very soon cease to exist! We try to help ourselves by actively seeking to increase our trading activities by improving our visitor’s offering, but the truth is we will always rely heavily on legacies. This special event is a chance to show our supporters that the core of our work is, and will always be, equine welfare. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what assets you have, I believe planning for the future and securing your decisions will make it easier for friends or family once you are gone. This is never an easy topic to discuss, but I look forward to meeting all who attend.”
Professional advisors will be on hand to help throughout the week to offer advice on how easy it is to make preparations for the future and also explain some of the technical elements.
On the Thursday of the week the event will be dedicated to the HAPPA Peace of Mind Scheme; a Scheme which gives horse owners the reassurance they seek for the future welfare and care of their beloved horse, pony or donkey.
The event will be held in the Visitor’s Centre at Shores Hey Farm, Blackhouse Lane, Briercliffe, Burnley BB10 3QU between 1pm and 3pm Tuesday 11th September until Thursday 13th September. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided.
