The Admiral Memorial Trophy nominees for 2020 have been received and a deserved winner chosen by the HAPPA Board of Trustees. The trophy is presented annually to Volunteers or Members of the Public who have made an outstanding contribution to HAPPA.
The trophy was donated to HAPPA by long-term member Dr Joy Faulkner in memory of her own horse Admiral in 1978.
This year, due to social distancing and Lockdown, some of our regular supporters have not been able to commit as much time, we are still appreciative of everything they do for us.
This year’s nominees were Nick Johnson, Morag Pallet, Gail Hardman-Carr, Esther Towler.
Nick Johnson B.V.M.S, R.C.V.S of Stanley House Vets is HAPPA’s regular in attendance veterinary surgeon and knows HAPPA horses and ponies both inside and out! ‘He has superiorly gone above and beyond to support the Charity this year and his commitment is seen in everything he does. The video content to help support our digital interaction during Lockdown has been greatly received not only by our stakeholders, but by staff alike. His wealth of knowledge and the dedication to sharing it is superb’.
Morag Pallet is a regular HAPPA Supporter who has taken to helping the Charity by collecting unwanted equine tack and equipment. These items are then sold to help raise funds or used for the horses and ponies at Shores Hey Farm. ‘She has collected from friends and donated a huge amount of tack and rugs. She is a loyal and dedicated supporter of HAPPA’.
Gail Hardman-Carr is a very regular visitor to Shores Hey Farm, bringing both friends and family alike to share her love and dedication to the Charity. She is always happy to help out with any fundraising and was a dab hand at the Christmas Wreath making. ‘Her positivity and friendly personality never fails to brighten up everyone’s day. The Admiral Memorial Award will show Gail what an amazing person she is and how she is not just a supporter she enhances the charity with her kind words of encouragement and understanding of the work we do’.
Esther Towler is a Volunteer Photographer for the Charity. As a professional equine photographer by nature, it is great to get the dedication and support of a professional to capture great imagery of the HAPPA equines. ’She comes and gives up her time to take pictures for the Sponsorship which is a talent in itself as we have a very specific look and she mails it. She gives an artistic look and gives and insight into the character of each horse. She thinks outside the box for our rehoming images and that makes us stand out from the crowd. Her photos are a credit to her and us’!
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to the winner Gail Hardman-Carr. Gail says ‘I was thrilled to receive the Admiral Memorial Trophy and am so grateful to you for considering me. I love the trophy and glassware and my rosette’.
