Heidi came to HAPPA in 2021 through a Cross Agency Transfer. She was originally rescued by another welfare charity in 2015 alongside eight others as their welfare needs were not being met. She was previously backed and went out to a home however, she was sadly returned before coming to HAPPA.
Heidi is such a lovely mare in every way and is most definitely a people’s pony, she is very vocal and loves to chat to whoever will listen. She is good to groom, bath, have her feet picked out and will stand patiently for the Vet and Farrier.
Since arriving at HAPPA Heidi started to undergo the backing process, however after investigating and struggling with lameness issues when in work she is now looking for a home as a Companion. The Vet is confident she is field sound and happy. Heidi has spent some ‘down-time’ in the field enjoying herself and is now ready to look for her new home.
Heidi would suit a home who will give her the attention she enjoys and spend time building a bond with her. She is a good doer so this would need to be monitored, however, with the right management would live out all year round and is happy to mix with both mares and gelding. Heidi is not keen on loud noises, and becomes unsettled, although this has improved as her confidence has grown with the care and attention from the Equine Care Team. She would love a quiet, peaceful life.
Heidi is up to date with her vaccinations, farrier, dentist and worming.
