With much sadness

It is with much sadness that we announce the death of our treasured Vice President, Mrs Jean Tipnis, who sadly passed away on 15th October 2018 after a short illness.

Jean, a long term supporter of the organisation, had connections spanning over several decades with the Charity. Jean was passionate about equine welfare and served on the Board of Trustees where she contributed towards HAPPA’s vision and mission. She was instrumental in the opening of Gregory Farm, escorting the first convoy of ponies to the southern Centre.

Her involvement went above and beyond, Jean gave her time to HAPPA so generously, manning the HAPPA stand at The Great Yorkshire Show for many years and was committed to ensuring its success. She was a great ambassador and fundraiser and would rally round recruiting volunteers on a regular basis.

Jean was ever present amongst the office team and would volunteer every Monday without fail, instrumental to many of the early editions to the HAPPA magazine as editor.

Her contribution to HAPPA was immeasurable and she is very sadly missed, especially by those who were honoured to work alongside her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this sad time and particularly to her daughter Sarah, whom she was immensely proud of. Rest in Peace Jean, forever in our hearts and minds.
