Celebrating Nature: HAPPA’s Art, Photography & Poetry Competition
Celebrating Nature is a creative competition that invites people of all ages to pause, look around, and express their love for the natural world, all while supporting vital equine welfare work.
Hosted by Horses and Ponies Protection Association, this fun and affordable competition encourages creativity in all its forms. Whether you prefer art, photography or poetry, we welcome entries that celebrate animals, landscapes, plants, seasons and the small details that make nature special.
This competition is about expression, individuality and connection.
How to Enter
- Entry fee: £2 per class
- Open to both children and adults
- Submit your artwork, photograph or poem by bringing it onsite or Emailing your entry along with a completed entry form
This flexible entry method ensures the competition is accessible to everyone.
Age Categories
Entries are welcomed in the following classes:
- 4–7 years
- 8–11 years
- 12–17 years
- 18+
What We’re Looking For
We welcome entries that:
- Celebrate nature, animals, wildlife, landscapes, plants or the seasons
- Show creativity and imagination
- Reflect your personal connection to the natural world
- Use art, photography or poetry as the chosen medium
Entries don’t need to be perfect or professional. We are looking for expression, effort, originality and care.
Most importantly, entries should show curiosity, creativity and a love for nature.

Prizes will be awarded in each age category and may include:
- Meal for two in the HAPPA Café
- Artist’s sets
- Pets at Home hampers
- HAPPA membership
- Book vouchers
- Teddy bears
- Canvas prints
- Certificates
- Rosettes
Key Dates
- Competition opens: 26th January 2026
- Competition closes: 27th February 2026
- Entries displayed onsite: 1 – 8 March 2026 (Classroom)
- Judging takes place: Friday 6th March 2026
