Stunning Location

Stunning location

Based in the stunning location of the Thursden Valley, Briercliffe, Burnley, the Charity usually welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Following the various lockdowns, funds from fundraising events and onsite trading have dramatically decreased. HAPPA is urging supporters to get behind the reopening and show their support by coming to see the resident horses and ponies, enjoy a lovely meal in The Café or shop at the new, larger, The Fussy Filly shop.

Visitors of all ages are sure to have a great day out at HAPPA, meeting all the resident horses and ponies, chatting to our dedicated team of professionals and completing fun onsite educational activities. Families can have a great time on the playground or just relax in a unique rural location. To top your visit off relax in the onsite Café where you can grab lunch, coffee and cake.

Our free ‘Facts with Fergus’ trail will keep everyone entertained, pick up an activity sheet at Reception and fill it in as you enjoy meeting Fergus and his Friends. There are extra learning activities along the route which require a QR Code Reader and these can be enjoyed by downloading a suitable app on your mobile device before visiting the site.

How To Visit HAPPA

We would kindly ask that all visitors book a visit online so that numbers onsite can be controlled. When you arrive please report to Reception, our friendly Reception Team will welcome you and talk you through all we have to offer onsite. All visitors should follow government restrictions to ensure that everyone has a safe and an enjoyable visit.

There is a minimum donation of £5 per group for access to visit the stables, horses and exercise arenas. Please support the vital work of the Charity during your visit by offering the minimum donation, or more. The Charity receives no state or lottery funding and is supported by the generosity of kind individuals and businesses alike. Like many we have had a difficult year and an only continue to Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rehome and Educate with financial support.

Visitors that hold a valid Membership/ Sponsorship and show proof at Reception have complete complementary access in all areas around site for themselves and accompanying group. To celebrate reopening we are offering everyone the chance to become a member for a reduced rate.
