Inspire the next generation.

Inspire young minds with a school trip to Shores Hey Farm or Educational Assembly.

We have the best instructors

At the Horses and Ponies Protection Association (HAPPA), we take pride in sharing our knowledge and expertise through our professional and qualified education team. From Own a Pony Days, CPD Courses to School Visits, and Assemblies, our education team cover how to care for an equine on both the inside and out.

We believe that education plays a crucial role in improving the quality of care given to equines, reducing welfare concerns, and preventing neglect and suffering. By educating individuals of all ages about basic horse care and husbandry, we can make a real difference in equine welfare.

Free School Visits

Throughout 2025, we are offering FREE school visits to explore the fundamentals of equine care. These sessions cover all the basics, from what it takes to own a horse, to the evolution of equine welfare.

What We Can Offer

Looking for a fun and engaging lesson or assembly on animal welfare? Our education team is here to help!

School Assemblies

Our school assemblies introduce students to what makes a horse happy. We cover the five welfare needs and how these needs apply to horses and other equines.

Get Involved & Support HAPPA

Our Education & Engagement Manager, shares:

“This year, our focus is to empower all ages with the knowledge of how to keep a horse happy and healthy. We want to help people recognise when a horse needs HAPPA’s help. All we ask is that visiting schools consider fundraising for our Charity in return for an assembly or class visit to Shores Hey Farm. Our work in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming equines is funded solely by public generosity, as we receive no government funding. I’m excited to build relationships with local schools – please get in touch to see how we can work together to educate on equine welfare.”
