Woof Shack is back at HAPPA and will now take place on the first Sunday of every month.
These affordable, themed dog sessions are designed to help owners build confidence, improve behaviour and enjoy quality time with their dogs in a calm, supportive environment.
Each month, Woof Shack will focus on a different training or enrichment theme, giving dogs and their owners the opportunity to learn practical new skills together.
This Month’s Theme: Parallel Play
This month’s Woof Shack session will focus on Parallel Play.
Parallel Play is a structured training method that involves keeping dogs at a safe distance while they observe one another without direct interaction. This gradual approach allows dogs to become more comfortable around each other in a calm and controlled way, helping them form positive associations while reducing the chance of negative reactions.
It can be especially helpful for dogs who are nervous, reactive, easily overstimulated or still developing their social confidence.
Following the session, participants will head on a short walk down the bridle path to the valley to help put these new skills into practice in a real outdoor setting.
