Lancashire horse welfare charity HAPPA (Horses and Ponies Protection Association) are encouraging people to think about the impact they want to make in their lives during their Lasting Legacy Week.
The week will highlight the impact of legacy giving for charities such as HAPPA, who rely on gifts in Wills for much of their income. Without these supporters there is a risk that neglected and abused horses, ponies and donkeys would not receive the care and attention they need to survive and thrive.
All week, supporters are invited to book a VIP guided tour at the charity’s headquarters at Shores Hey Farm to see first-hand how legacy giving support makes a difference to the lives of the equines HAPPA cares for.
HAPPA Chief Executive Sarah Arthur said: “HAPPA’s Lasting Legacy Week is a time to pause and think about the impact we want to make in our lives. It is an opportunity to consider how we would like to be remembered and the legacy we wish to leave behind.
“At HAPPA, we cherish every single one of our supporters, past and present. You have all played a vital role in helping us continue our mission. For those who are no longer with us but chose to leave a legacy to HAPPA, their memory lives on in a unique way, and we are forever grateful for their enduring contributions.
“Creating your legacy is something you do every day, whether it is by being a good friend, supporting a local charity, bringing joy to your workplace, helping others in times of need. Whether you have two legs or four, every act of kindness and support makes your little corner of the world a better place. These moments are what people will remember you for, your legacy.”
September 9th – 13th is also Remember a Charity Week, a time when charities nationwide remind people about the importance of donations left via gifts in Wills for the UK’s charity sector.
