Arya is a gorgeous mare, looking for her forever home through our project scheme.

Arya arrived at Shores Hey Farm in 2019 after a large rescue. When she arrived, she was emaciated, suffering a severe lice infestation and was extremely nervous of human touch.

After a lot of time and care, Arya is thriving in her ridden life and is ready to go on and explore the world with her new person. She is very sweet with much more to give. She will stand happily being groomed and fussed over all day. She loves to be the centre of attention.

When it comes to ridden work, Arya really does love her hacking. She is currently walking and trotting in the arena, showing some lovely potential, although she does struggle conformationally, so a home with a lot of experience and more hacking would be best suited to her.

She is a lovely mare to ride. Her only vice would be when she is startled in the arena, she can sometimes shoot off in canter (in the arena only – she isn’t phased when out hacking). She is a star in traffic, with animals and dogs, all weathers etc. a general Happy Hacker.

With the current stage Arya is at in her education, a confident, experienced and understanding home and rider is absolutely essential, especially as she takes confidence from her rider and would be best suited to a 1 on 1 home.

She turns out in a mixed group, is good to bath and groom. She is also good for the farrier and vet. Ayra is up to date with all routine health procedures. She has had previous dental issues in the past, so she does require more frequent checks, but all necessary work has been carried out by a specialist.
