In the heartwarming tale of two Shetland Stallions, HAPPA Scrappy and HAPPA Scooby, measuring at 36″ high each, found comfort and safety at Shores Hey Farm, this year. Scooby, the youngest of the duo, entered the world in 2017, while Scrappy was born in 2013.
They arrived through a direct rescue, after his owners were suffering from ill health and were struggling to cope. The ponies were kept in a field full of a poisonous weed (Ragwort) which can cause liver damage if ingested by horses. Due to their owners failing health, they were not able to manage the pasture and remove the obnoxious weed, and the ponies were in danger of further welfare compromise. Despite their best efforts, it was better to sign them over to HAPPA.

Both ponies had an extended stay in the Isolation Unit on arrival due to them being under the weather and suffering from a minor virus, which took its toll on them both, this has delayed their rehabilitation, but we hope for a bright future from these little beauties.
