HAPPA have announced their activities for the summer holidays at Shores Hey Farm in Briercliffe, Burnley, including a brand-new walkway around the Farm, colouring competition, pony grooming and much more on the programme.

Following recent improvements to the Farm visitors this summer will be able to explore further using the walkways developed to see the HAPPA horses and ponies in their natural environment- running and playing in the fields.

HAPPA is also encouraging visitors with dogs to come and explore the great outdoors of the Farm, with readily available cooling mats and water for your canine companion for the warmer weather.

All summer young visitors will be able to help Fergus find his friends with the Fergus & Friends Trail, which also includes a colouring competition to win a Crafty Pony, available when you book your visit at the Visit Us section of the HAPPA website www.happa.org.uk/visit-us

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Pony Grooming sessions will be held between 11am-3pm. Children aged 4+ and adults are invited to groom one of HAPPA’s gentle horses supervised by a member of staff. These sessions are available to purchase after entry.

But that’s not all, the Team are holding Own a Pony Days and Beginners Guide to Horse and Pony Care Courses. If you, or anyone you know, is a keen equestrian here’s a chance to expand knowledge and skills or develop new ones. Visit the Horse Care Courses section on the HAPPA website for more information and to book www.happa.org.uk

The Café also has weekly offers and specials available. Bookings can be made on [email protected] / Facebook messenger @thecafeatshoresheyfarm or call/ text 07736888917.

The Fussy Filly gift and tack shop will be open every day 11am -4pm with a great selection of toys for a summer treat, or second-hand equipment for your own horse or pony, or gift for your dog.

HAPPA’s Head of Marketing and Fundraising, Julie Pharaoh-Gan, explains further “This summer we hope will be the best for visitors with our added extras and the new walkway. Visiting the Farm is a great day out, and you can finish the day in style with a fantastic meal in the Cafe. Guests and customers can help raise an income to directly support the core mission of rescuing horses and ponies from neglect every time they visit, take part in an activity, shop or dine with us. Visitors are so vital to the work that we do, their support over the summer will help HAPPA to continue.”
