Finalists in Three Categories

We at HAPPA (Horses and Ponies Protection Association) are proud to announce that we are finalists in three categories at the prestigious Lancashire Tourism Awards 2026. Based at Shores Hey Farm, Briercliffe, we have reached the shortlist for:

  • Dog Friendly Business Award

  • Small Visitor Attraction Award

  • Experience of the Year Award for our popular Own a Pony Days

Celebrating Lancashire’s Best

The Lancashire Tourism Awards shine a spotlight on the very best in the county’s visitor economy. They recognise organisations that deliver outstanding experiences for residents and visitors. Being finalists in three categories shows our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive and engaging visitor experience for families, dog owners and equestrian enthusiasts alike.

Recognition of Our Team’s Work

Our Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Arthur, said:“To be recognised in three separate categories is an incredible achievement for our team and volunteers. It proves the passion, dedication and creativity that make HAPPA a truly unique place to visit. We’re especially proud that our work with both animals and people is being celebrated. From our dog-friendly facilities to our Own a Pony Days, we aim to inspire and educate the next generation.”

The Heart of Shores Hey Farm

This recognition is more than an award nomination. It reflects the hard work of our staff, volunteers and supporters who make Shores Hey Farm such a special place. Our efforts to create a welcoming, engaging and educational environment have a real impact. They benefit not only the animals in our care but also the thousands of visitors who come to see us each year.

Looking Ahead to the Awards

Our Head of PR and Marketing, April Hinnigan, added:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be finalists this year—and in three categories no less! The judging interviews in November will give us a fantastic opportunity to showcase why Shores Hey Farm is so special. We can’t wait to share our story, meet the judges and celebrate alongside so many other brilliant Lancashire tourism businesses.”

Inspiring More Visitors and Supporters

As we prepare for the Awards, we see this recognition as a chance to raise our voice, build new partnerships and inspire more people to support equine welfare. Whatever the final result, we hope the spotlight will encourage even more visitors to experience the magic of Shores Hey Farm and the vital work we do every day.

Awards Ceremony in 2026

The final stage of the competition will take place later this year, with judging interviews scheduled for November. Winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony in February 2026.
