**News Of Reopening**

April 13, 2021

We know all our supporters and friends are ‘chomping at the bit’ to know when we will be reopening HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm to visitors. With the announcements from the Government of a careful staged re-opening of retail, businesses and hospitality we had a difficult decision to make as a Team to ensure that whatever happened the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers came first.
The site has been closed for so long now that there are a lot of preparations to complete to ensure the site is ready for reopening. With this in mind, we have decided to wait until Monday 28th June 2021 to reopen to visitors. We know that this may not be the best news for everyone, however, we urge you all to support this decision.
Sarah Arthur (CEO) explains “To re-open after all the restrictions have lifted seems, at this stage, absolutely the right thing to do. The HAPPA Team have been through a traumatic year with so many highs and lows, it is now important to ensure that when the site does reopen there is renewed stability and a settled, happy, environment for all our visitors and staff to enjoy. Time will tell how things will progress, the ideal is that when we reopen in June, there is minimal, or, dare I say it, no risk to staff and visitors.
The good news is that we continue to respond to reports of cruelty and neglect, whilst offering exemplary standards of care to our resident equines. In addition we can now: rehome all the HAPPA horses, reintroduce onsite educational days, offer Arena hire, a click and collect service for our onsite Shop and offer horse rug washing. The Team are also looking for volunteers to help with all the preparations to make Shores Hey Farm fighting fit for reopening.”
