Last Christmas was rather quiet wasn’t it? Well, this year HAPPA are bringing Christmas back! By launching a range of Christmas activities for families this December, with some ‘cool’ guests visiting too. The Christmas events will all be held at the Charity’s Shores Hey Farm, Briercliffe, Burnley, BB10 3QU, to help raise vital funds.

The Charity has put together a December packed full of Festive Delights. Families, supporters and friends are encouraged to show their support for the vital equine welfare work of the Charity by attending an event and/ or enjoying a festive lunch in The Café to celebrate Christmas. Throughout December children will be challenged to find all of Santa’s Reindeers around the Farm and make their own Christmas decoration in the Activity Room. Craft packs and Reindeer Trail Sheets will be available to purchase as an addition to the entry donation online. We also have a Wreath Making Masterclass to make sustainable and beautiful Christmas Wreaths.

The Café will be offering a Festive Menu full of delicious treats and will be playing Christmas movies in the cinema room to keep the children entertained. The Café launches its Christmas Menu on the 6th December, with the menu available now to view online and bookings being taken by email [email protected]

The Charity is excited to announce that Elsa and The Nokk will visit the Farm on Friday 17th and 24th December. A must have for young Frozen fans, Frozen Fridays will see Elsa host games, singing songs from the Frozen films and the opportunity to make your own edible snowman. Every child will also receive a Frozen goodie bag and will get to have their picture taken with Elsa and the mystical spirit from Frozen 2 The Nokk.

Julie Pharaoh-Gan, HAPPA’s Head of Fundraising, says “We want to make this Christmas a special one for all our supporters, visitors, staff, volunteers and equines. Last year was a bleak Christmas with lockdown, we all missed the chance to celebrate the festive season and the horses certainly missed all the extra gifts visitors bring for them. This year we hope to raise some much-needed income and everyone’s festive spirits with all the fun events we have planned. I cannot wait to welcome Santa and Elsa to the Farm, we all feel a bit star struck.”

Anyone visiting the Farm throughout December will be able to purchase horse sponsorship packs for a special price of just £35. Sponsoring a HAPPA horse is a great way to support the Charity and follow your chosen equine’s journey to finding a Forever Home. With the added bonus of this special offer being presented in a festive decorative pack, an ideal gift for any equine enthusiast.

Finally, the resident horses and ponies will not be left out, their supporters and friends will be encouraged to buy them gifts from their Christmas lists by visiting The Fussy Filly online or at the Farm. Each one really does deserve a present this year.

After a challenging time for everyone HAPPA are appealing for you to join them in celebrating Christmas 2021. The Charity would not exist without your support.
