Unique Sponsorship Opportunity with Renovation of the Walter Bartley Memorial Stable Block

We are excited to announce an exclusive sponsorship opportunity for supporters and horse enthusiasts as part of the upcoming renovation of the Walter Bartley Memorial Stable Block. For a one-off payment of £250, sponsors can have their names engraved on a plaque affixed to one of the newly renovated stables, supporting our mission to rescue and rehabilitate horses.

Built in 2006, the Walter Bartley Memorial Stable Block has been integral to our ability to care for and rehabilitate horses in need. However, after years of service, the internal stabling has deteriorated, with rusting metal frameworks and fragile wooden slats posing significant risks to both horses and staff.

The planned renovations include the replacement and extension of 16 stables, the installation of a new rubber matting system, and the addition of two storerooms. The upgraded stables will feature galvanized steel frameworks and recycled plastic slats, providing enhanced durability and requiring minimal maintenance. The new rubber matting will offer superior protection, comfort, and warmth for the horses, ensuring they continue to receive the highest standards of care.

Rachael Wallace, our Equine Rehabilitation and Rehoming Manager, emphasized the importance of this project: “The Walter Bartley stable block has served us well, but the stabling within the building is now deteriorating and becoming unfit for purpose. The much-needed upgrade to the stabling will enhance horse welfare, reduce maintenance costs, and allow us to accommodate larger horses.”

Yellow Hill Equestrian will commence the stable refurbishment works this July.
